Coaching is not necessarily the first tool, which you imagine when we talk about supporting people fleeing the war. However, it is a strong and unique development method. When applied by certified and creative professionals, it helps motivated clients to clearly see their own way forward, gives fresh views, asks unusual questions and breaks their habitual thinking patterns. 

 

Now coaching is not widely known in Ukrainian society - hence gives us plenty of opportunities to promote it, increase social awareness and gain more supporters who understand and utilise its benefits.

 

We launched #coachtheukrainian - an educational and humanitarian project, addressing Ukrainians rebuilding their lives affected by war. For Coaches, it gives the opportunity to contribute to a good cause and to join a self-developing and self-managing community. For clients, it will provide information about the coaching as well as possibilities to try coaching sessions from certified coaches. 

 

The project runs on the "pro bono plus" concept - while "free" coaching sessions are still at the core, much other work is needed to secure support over an extended period and make the program sustainable. We include the possibility for Coaches to offer support beyond Coaching; with monetary donations or their time and expertise in getting involved in growing awareness. Clients who have received coaching and find themselves in a better place will also be invited to give back. 

 

Now we are partnering with ICF Switzerland and the "Centre for Coaching". We work across the associations and this invitation extends to all certified coaches, not only ICF credentialed, as it is a time to unite and help. The plan is to increase the community of pro bono сoaches starting to reach out to Ukrainian clients from September 2022.
